Frantic February

February is turning into a bit of a crazy month, not only are the kids back at school starting a new year (and all the adjustments that go with going up a grade) but my dear Nan is celebrating her 90th birthday and my sister-in-law has sprung a surprise wedding on us!

I told my family I'd like to make my Nan an album for her birthday but they didn't get the photos to me until late in January and her birthday is the start of Feb, so I had a very sleepless week making this every second I had! I used an old book I found at the Op-Shop. It had a beautiful leather cover in dark tan. My Nan loves yellow roses and the whole party was a sea of yellow roses, which was amazing because none of us coordinated with each other. Here are a couple of my favourite pages.

I still have to add some journalling, I know she'll remember so I want to sit with my Nan and add all the details. I glued a lot of the pages in the book together to create thick album like pages. Unfortunately the binding started to fall to pieces so I had to use ring binders to hold it together. This page is done with Prima "Printery Collection".

This is Kaisercraft's "Sweet Nothings" Collection. It is a beautiful collection, perfect for vintage photos.

This is one of my favourite pages. This is my Nan & Grandad together. It was my Nan's 19th birthday, my Grandad was in his Cameron Highlander's uniform. It was 3 or 4 years before they were married and 5 years before my Mum was born. It was also before World War II when they had to part as my Grandad went of to serve in Papua New Guinea with the Australian Army. Teenage sweethearts, just like my Mum & Dad and my husband & I. Awwwww :-)
This is also Prima's Printery Collection.

Here's my beautiful Nan, 90 years young, blowing out the candles on the cake I made (chocolate!). It was a lovely day, lots of relatives and friends. It's always fun seeing distant family and them trying to work out who you are and who's child you are!

Happy Birthday Nan!
